Port Light Installation in 2007

The plastic port lights on Samana were failing due to clay that became old and dried out. The frames suffered ultraviolet light damage from the sun. This resulted in frames leaking and breaking up. These pictures relate the damage, installation, and how the new Lewmar port lights look on Samana. There were 6 port lights replaced in the summer of 2007.

Auto Pilot Installation in 2008

The old Navico wheel pilot "autopilot" failed after returning from the Bahamas. We were at anchor in Vero Beach when it failed. The electronics would no longer work even though 12 volts was being supplied to the circuit board. I purchased a Simrad AP16 Autopilot from McClure Marine Electronics of Fort Pierce, Florida. I then hired them to perform the installation of the steering quadrant fixture, rudder feedback, and linear hydraulic drive. I installed the computer and all the wiring for the installation. I did not get a picture of the flux gate compass which is installed below the navigation station in the main salon. Click on the above link to the auto pilot installation for pictures of the installation.
